Climable is a woman-run nonprofit that works to communicate climate science and clean energy issues so they are understandable and actionable. Our end goals are energy democracy and climate resilience. Climable helped formulate the Resilient Urban Neighborhood (RUN) concept that believes clean energy should be available to all people regardless of socioeconomic condition and everyone should have a say in how they receive power. The RUN team is currently engaged in clean energy low-income community microgrids that leverage a grassroots driven approach. RUN’s technical expertise, combined with Climable’s plain language forte, have led to a hybrid virtual microgrid model that ensures the most economical measures create maximum resilience in traditionally vulnerable neighborhoods.
